Established in 1980, the Family Literacy Center of Lapeer is a 501c3 organization providing one-to-one and small group tutoring for adults in the thumb area of Michigan. We help our students improve their math and literacy skills, prepare for the GED, and enter employment or training programs. We offer family programs including school and library-based tutoring programs, playgroups, and hot-topic workshops. We depend on volunteers in various capacities to help us fulfill our mission. We strive to help people in our community reach their literacy and employment goals. Our program is designed to empower people and change lives.

The staff at the Family Literacy Center is a tight group of focused, caring individuals who understand how literacy can affect your life. Having well-established reading and writing skills is key to a successful future. Our dedicated staff are always ready and available to work with you in order to accomplish your goals.
