Why become a volunteer?

Our volunteers are the heart of the Family Literacy Center. Over the last 45 years, FLC volunteers and staff have helped hundreds of students achieve their GED, supported new English learners, and brought learning to families across Lapeer County and beyond. Your time and compassion can make a lasting difference. Every hour you give changes a life. We provide training, materials, and ongoing support—no experience necessary. You’ll make learning possible for adults and families right here in our community.
